Apologies short and snappy as I’m writing this on my notes on my phone on the train home for Xmas.
12:55 Haydock – Little Miss Dante 3/1
Lovely mare. 3/4. 2/2 over hurdles. Stretching away at the line at each of her hurdles runs. Alfie’s Princess the main threat but she’s strong in the market and expect a big run.
13:50 Ascot – Triple Trade 3/1
Form of 213, 21 at Cheltenham meetings. Ran really well when 3rd after less than a week’s rest. Comes here fresh in a really weak field with lots of horses having something to prove.
14:25 Ascot – Blueking D’oroux 12/1 EW 4 places
Emphasis on the 4 places. Really impressed with his run lto. Everything went wrong and still got round Strong Leader and was stretching away. On the back of that I think he should stay the 3m but that is the unknown. 4yos have won this before and would like to think at some point the new and improving young horses should surpass the old boys like Paisley Park, Champ and Dashel Drasher. Worth a go at a price for a horse that is 2/2 at Ascot and on an upward curve.
15:00 Ascot – Yeah Man 6/1
Watching his last race back I think he was coming with a winning run behind Victtorino before falling at the last. He’s better off at the weights here and have lots of respect for Cromwells raiders this season, all very well placed. He gets a nice bit of weight off both Victtorino and Blackjack Magic who are clearly the two main threats
15:35 Ascot – Iberico Lord 3/1
Couldn’t help but feel stupid for not backing this lad in the Greatwood when he bolted up. A hurdler who I think will grow into a top level performer. Should improve for the run too and think he’ll be really hard to beat here. He had Luccia and Nemean Lion both in behind and would be surprised to see either reverse the form.
Wouldn’t put anyone off a combination forecast or a combination tricast with the 3 Henderson horses: Iberico Lord, Impose Toi and Luccia. I think they’re the 3 best horses in the race and wouldn’t be shocked to see them all up there at the finish. In what order I wish I knew.
