After a day of “how did I even talk myself into going against Annie “I’ve Got The Power” Jr I will be sure I do not have my judgment clouded again…hopefully.
But, with that behind us we look forward to Glorious Goodwood, and a week of top action.
There are two bets who I think will be running massive races today
Glorious Goodwood 3:25 – Group 2 Vintage Stakes (7f)
As you would expect with a crop of unexposed 2yo this might spring a surprise, but I think we have see enough from the selection to suggest that he ready to make it two from three on the track.
As big as 14/1 in the build up to this race and now in as 7/2 second favouite, the brother of Perfect Power is who I am siding with.
GOLDEN MIND, last seen when running a stormer in the Chesham at Royal Ascot where he gaining all the way to the line on his own.
Ground shouldn’t be an issue and I am expecting a breath taking performance from Golden Mind and a flying dismount from Frankie.
Glorious Goodwood 4:35 – Group 1 Goodwood Cup (2m)
A long distance flat race aka Group 1 bumper is one where I have set my eyes on a tricky but talented mare in EMILY DICKINSON.
Finished 4th in last months Ascot Gold Cup on ground a lot faster than ideal for her, but she still ran a massive race to finish just over 4L off the reposing Courage Mon Ami & Coltrane.
The reason I think she will be closing the gap on the above two is due to the ground and drop back to 2m. Her form figures on ground varying from soft to heavy reads 4111.
With that all taken into account 6/1 is an each way price that I am more than willing to take a chance on Emily Dickinson.
