Chester 1:35 – Lord Bertie 6/4
This is the perfect opportunity to make it 3 from 4 for the talented Lord Bertie.
His debut smacked of a good horse when just 1L off the Guineas winner Chaldean. He didn’t waste any time getting a win to his name at Ffos Lass and followed that in 12L demolition job at Thirsk.
He is positioned to use his breaking speed here, and if he gets out in front it will be very hard for any of his rivals to get a hold of him.
Sandown 5:20 – Clipsham La Habana 7/1
Has been very consistent this season and that was evident when a good 3rd in the Racing League 16 days ago.
Runs off the same mark here, and this is an angle I like with these competitive 5f sprints. Front a runner who stays 6f really well.
This means he can make use of the extra stamina to make 5f speedsters tap into theirs a lot sooner than they want.
At the prices, he is a great each-way proposition.
