Friday Betting Tips
12:40 – Grey Dawning 15/8
Stupidly deserted his last time out at Aintree and got made to look silly when he bolted up destroying Apples Away who has bolted up since. That 1 length loss to Stay Away Fay reads much better now he’s gone and done Giovinco. The penalty is my only worry.
8lbs to Crebilly is a lot of weight but despite him looking good falling 2 out we don’t know if he would have got there. Ginny’s Destiny was held previously.

13:15 – Williethebuilder 5/1
Form of his G2 4th here in October is solid. Lookaway, the winner, has since finished 2nd in the Greatwood. Kamsinas won a G2 at Haydock. The third has finished a neck 2nd at Hereford and the 6th has also won. Williethebuilder was all over the place on the run in and dropped to handicap company could be dangerous. Best form in the field. Donnacha is the only threat.
15:00 – Gesskille 5/1 Wick Green 20/1 EW 5 Places
Top weights always struggle in these so happy to ignore Galvin, Indo, Fury Road. Gesskille gives me Easysland vibes coming here at 7yo when the rest come here at the end of the career. Should have the legs, plenty of aintree fence experience which this race is often a prep for and a nice racing weight. Connections need him to win here really to guarantee a run in the Grand National.
Wick Green, a rogue pick but hear me out. Came 3rd and 4th in two amateur jockey handicaps at October and November meetings. Arguably some of the hardest races to win I think. Chambard finished marginally ahead last time out and bolted up in the Becher chase on the weekend. Very low weight which looking back at past results you need.
The final positive is Ben Jones who is class in staying races. Got Volcano to place in the XC in November, Francky du Berlais would have placed in the XC at the festival at 125/1 if he did not refuse the last. Proper jockey, reckon he gets him in the top 5.
15:35 – White Rhino 3/1
Won 5/7 handicap starts. Watch the last race back when 2nd in November. Ran into trouble everywhere. Think he flies here on a very workable racing weight.
Saturday Betting Tips
13:15 – In Excelsis Deo 2/1
Proper eyecatcher back here in October running on late behind Triple Trade. He went out and beat Calico who Deo received lots of weight off. Happy to have him on the side on what looks like a match bet between the two.
13:50 – Il Ridoto 13/2
Always runs well. Ran well in the November Gold Cup for 3rd. Think this is much weaker. Will be better for his return. Fancy him to be consistent and run another good race. Did want to back Fugitif too but he just seems really hard to win with.
14:25 Broadway Boy 4/1
Said this horse would bolt up in November and he did. He bolts up again. Nap of the weekend. Carries a featherweight thanks to Protektorat. Threeunderthrufive is a slow boat. Malina Girl the only worry but Broadway Boy flieeees ODE.
