Weekend Betting Tips 11th-12th November

Wincanton

13:15 – Boodles Condtional Jockeys Handicap Chase 2m4f (Class 3)

Selection : Huelgoat 6/1

We will start the weekend off at Wincanton in the opening race on UK Terrestrial coverage and i’ll be siding with the Paul Nicholls trained Huelgoat. Last seen finishing 4th in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Worcester that suits as a nice prep run for this contest, giving him a bit of race fitness on his side. He does stay further than this trip, so i’m hoping a true run race on this sort of ground can bring him right into the mix. I simply believe this horse has the best form in the book from a stable which loves to target this meeting he looks the one too beat.

14:25 – Badger Beer Handicap Chase 3m1f (Premier Handicap)

Selection : Threeunderthrufive 10/3

In the big handicap on the card I’ll be hoping for a Paul Nicholls double on the selections and it’s Threeunderthrufive who is the horse I’ll be putting up. Listen, last year probably didn’t go too plan with this horse and he didn’t live up to the expectations of some. He rounded off the campaign however with an admirable 4th in the Scottish National when fitted with a combination off a Tongue-Tie and cheekpieces. His mark has been left unaltered for that and while he might need a slight bit of help from the handicapper he could be ahead off this mark. Harry Cobden being back on board is a massive plus for him and i’d be interested to see how he gets on with him on board rather than Adrian Heskin. Grade two winning chaser as a novice i’m hoping he can get somewhere back to that form after a wind operation for a yard who has won this four times in the past six years.

Aintree Betting Tips

14:10 – Handicap Chase 2m (Class 3)

Selection : Ukantango 6/1

Winner at the track back in 2022 when picking up a novice hurdle, he went on too finish 2nd in the Grade 2 novice hurdle over 2 miles at Cheltenham in November before pulling up in Tolworth and finishing 3rd behind Rubuad who should well go on too win the Elite over at Wincanton on the same day, in the Dovecote. I’m hoping he can improve for a fence on chasing debut and that can spark him back to his best, he was placed in an Irish Point only a short head behind Willie Mullins talented horse Nick Rockett who some are putting up for the novice chases at the festival in March. Your one worry would be how soft the ground could be at Aintree, he has pulled up and finished 11th in his only two starts on soft but i believe he can overcome that too land this one.

14:45 – Grand Sefton Handicap Chase 2m5f (Class 2)

Selection : Fantastic Lady 11/2

I love a good race over the National Fences and I think Fantastic Lady has a cracking shot at landing the Grand Sefton on Saturday. She’s an extremely useful mare who won a 3M listed race at Market Rasen on re-appearance last season and bookended her campaign with a 3rd in the Oaksey behind Hewick and First Flow and a 2nd here in the Topham, finding only Bill Baxter too good for her on the day. With that course form in the book you can be confident that she will take to the fences and course better than some others in the race and she’ll by all accounts handle the ground conditions as well. She’ll make her presence felt and she might just be my best bet of the entire weekend.
